The Annual Dinner that is put on to raise funds for the restoration of Rio Linda Fire Truck Engine No. 2, and the prior Firehouse No. 1 of the former Rio Linda Fire District. The date for this year’s dinner is Saturday, October 21, 2023.

The Dinner is hosted by our very own restoration crew which includes classic vehicle afficionados; former and current fire fighters; and some friends of the former Rio Linda (now Sac Metro) Fire District. The dinner is a barbeque feast including chicken, ribs, sides and beverages.

Activities at the dinner include both door prizes and a silent and live auction. Donated prizes in the past have included small TV’s and golf clubs, and the auction has included large handmade quilts and trips to Disneyland. Possibly there will be similar items available.

Every year there is a keynote speaker. The speaker for 2023 is TBD.

All funds raised during the annual fundraising dinner are used to restore Fire Engine No. 2 to it’s original, or better, conditions, and also the restoration of the old RLFD Fire House No. 1 to condition for use as a Fire Service Museum open to the public. Once restored, Fire House No. 1 will be the first Fire Service Museum in Sacramento County.
